Recent events:
* On 26 June 2013, founding member and Chair of the European Rohingya Council, Mr. Khairul Amin, gave a talk at the Irish Aid Volunteer Centre in Dublin on the horrific sufferings of the Rohingya people in Burma. Also speaking at the same event was Galway-based Rohingya representative Haikal Mansor who gave a very informative talk on the historical background of the Rohingya community.

* On 6 June, BAI screened the documentary Burma Soldier, which tells the story of Myo Myint, a former Burma Army soldier who became a pro-democracy activist. The documentary’s producer, by Julie Le Brocquy, introduced the film.

Media releases, opinion pieces, Facebook, Newsletters highlighting significant developments
250 km sponsored walk, 800km Freedom Cycle Malin-to-Mizen cycle raising awareness and funds
Separately and in conjunction with the Euro-Burma Network (EBN), Burma support groups worldwide and human rights organisations, Burma Action Ireland has participated in numerous campaigns throughout the years. These include 64forsuu.org campaign, Free Burma’s Political Prisoner Now!, Austrian Air/Air Lauda, Clean Clothes/Dirty Clothes, St. Patrick’s Day card campaign, Free Burma VJ, Open Schools (in Burma), Send Aung San Suu Kyi a Birthday Card, the Body Shop Birthday Card campaign, environmental campaigns
Public demonstrations, candlelight vigils to mark the anniversary of 8/8/88, anniversary of the Saffron Revolution, Human Right Day on 12th December each year
